Anthony Ervin won a gold and silver medal in the 2000 Sydney Olympics for U.S.A. He went on to be a swimming star at UC Berkeley and was world champion sprint freestyler until his "retirement" in 2003.
Well, now he's back and aiming for the 2012 London Olympics. He showed up out of nowhere for the Austin Grand Prix in January 2012 and won 3rd and 4th place in the 50 meter and 100 meter freestyle respectively (beating Michael Phelps, if that gives you any perspective.)
