The most widely used CMS is probably Wordpress. Wordpress is simple to use, well optimized for SEO, and it is pretty easy to get rolling with their integrated hosting service. Wordpress is primarily a blogging platform. A lot of our customers start out with Wordpress but eventually "hit the wall" when they are trying to create custom content types. Drupal is probably overkill for just a blog, but it can do much, much more.
Joomla is another widely-used CMS platform that competes with Drupal. Like Wordpress, it is a bit easier to get started with if you are a do-it-yourselfer. But it's limited compared to Drupal, and we prefer the power of endless opportunities and growth with our website. With Drupal, you never ask "can it do this?" Of course it can.
